Open-Source – Freeware Software Unleashed
There are a lot of freeware that is safe and very convenient to use thanks to the advent of open sourced systems which allows communities rather than companies to do the decisions for a particular system from the down up. From the development phases, FireFox, chrome and many other freeware browsers that have taken a bite of the large percentage of users IE used to dominate have become better and even faster than the later due to lower overhead and compatibilities issues. But that’s not the end of the story for because these free browsers function within windows, being the most used operating system due to sheer brute force of implementation which it had during the hay-days of the PC, the community has become aware of many of the OS’s weaknesses informing and adapting their own proprietary systems as needed.
The huge numbers of windows users is by far the only thing that keeps Microsoft on top but if it were for pure performance, compared to IE, most freeware browsers function better and are optimized to work with the Internets leaders such as Google and Yahoo. The Wiki phenomenon has also begun to take hold making information available for all rather than having to pay for it in the days of past when subscription was the norm. Today, you can get hold of just about anything over the internet due to such innovations which is set to be the prime example of the social web, where everybody is connected and has a say in what they get.
